Joinery & Construction Service Provider Since 1991

Maskame & Tait Ltd are a joinery and construction services provider based in Peterhead in North East Scotland.

Established in 1991 as a joinery partnership by Gary Maskame and David Tait to build two sheds, the company has now grown to employ 20 people across various construction trades (joinery, building, painting, and decorating). Working with our network of established sub-contractors, we provide an all-trade responsive maintenance and project delivery service for our clients across a wide range of sectors from Housing, Commercial, Private Domestic, Marine, and Local Authority works across the North East of Scotland.

In addition to our field services, we also have a workshop at our premises in Peterhead where we manufacture timber doors, windows, and bespoke joinery products to order for our clients.

SERVICES

Expert Joiners, Building Contractors, and Glaziers

Maskame & Tait Ltd provide a full multi-trade service to our clients across the North East of Scotland. Our in-house trades team consists of Joiners (covering all aspects of the trade from glazing, installation of windows, doors, kitchens, uPVC fixtures, bathrooms and extensions to general maintenance of properties), builders (covering all general building works and roughcasting), and Painters & Decorators (including Ames taping, wallpapering and internal/external painting works).

In addition to our staff, we also utilise our established network of local sub-contractors to deliver a single point of contact, multi-trade property service. This ranges from plumbing, electrical, roofing, steel fabrication, plastering and specialist clearances and cleaning.

Our workshop has been the home of joinery businesses for over 125 years and we are still committed to manufacturing timber doors, windows, furniture, and bespoke joinery products to order for our customers.

No two jobs are ever the same and we welcome any projects which our customers would like to discuss. A selection of completed projects can be seen in the photos opposite.

MAINTENANCE

Responsive Maintenance Around the Clock

We specialise in responsive maintenance works for numerous clients. This includes a 24-hour, round-the-clock call-out service for existing clients and full multi-trade coverage across the North East of Scotland.

We stock a large range of locks, handles, and ironmongery and our experienced tradesmen are on hand should our clients require assistance at any time of day or night.

Working with Social Housing Associations for 24/7 Maintenance Cover

Over the last 30 years we have steadily built our portfolio of social housing association clients. We provide 24-hour, round-the-clock responsive maintenance cover to hundreds of homes in addition to the refurbishment of void properties, meeting tight schedules for numerous clients across North Aberdeenshire.

Our reputation and experience within the sector ensures that tenants are comfortable with our teams working in their homes and that clients are happy to rely on us to deliver a great service. Several of our housing association clients have worked collaboratively with us for many decades.

MARINE

Supporting the Marine Sector with Custom Manufacturing

A recent change of course has seen Maskame & Tait Ltd carry out an increasing amount of work in the Marine sector. We work with several clients to deliver vessel mobilisations and provide timber items of all shapes and sizes to meet their requirements every time.

The nature of this industry means that timescales are tight and demands must be met, but by utilising our workshop and team of tradesmen, we are capable of meeting these demands at short notice every time. This includes manufacturing items in the workshop and the provision of squads to assist with mobilisation shift work aboard vessels as and when required.

Given the recent investment in ports in the North East of Scotland, we understand the need for these services is only going to increase. We are keen to develop this element of the company and would be happy to speak with new clients to discuss their requirements for future projects and to let you see what we can offer.
